Dont know why there was that second red flag but I won't complain since it finished. And what a finish! Max was possessed out there. I liked his radio call after his huge save; "I think I'll go higher there". Haha.
Great moment for Massa even though it was a crash. Just fitting that he got to walk up the pit lane and take it all in with the crowd and teams giving him applause. Never want to crash but that was special.
Welp. Comes down to the final race! Nico was begging for a red flag on the radio and clearly happy with second place looking for the easy out. Kind of what hes been doing for quite a few races now. Hes racing nervouse and cautious. Racing to not lose instead of win. Hes had four or five races to just go and win but hes just coasting. I like him more than Lewis but I'm practically cheering for Lewis to win the championship now!
@ButtStallion Heaps of things for me to reply on. First and most important. I love Kimi. Second fastest driver of his generation. At least version 1 was, Version 2 is getting there.
Max is a pure talent and the problem is there is no talent to show him up... however I don't want to watch the race when he learns the lesson the more experienced drivers speak. Reality is if lesser drivers like Kobiyashi or Maldonardo were still racing, Max would have made a trip to the hospital already for his defense.
Max deserved his penalty and so did Vettel in my opinion. Max obvious why and Vettel should have ceded, but more debatable.
Hamilton pinched a brake on cold tires and super cold brakes and Rosberg and Riccardo were not compromised or lost an advantage. They were having their own issue off the line and Hamilton backed himself back to Rosberg after (that was the key).
I forgot that with the aero packages next year they get wider tires, so you are correct, they may be tracking in a better direction.
Brazil will have no quarter given. Glad Riccy Bobby got 3rd.
Race started at 1:00AM eastern here, well past my bed time but I was up and tried. Fell asleep around lap 20 and woke up to and turned it off around lap 25-27 and went to sleep for good. Everybody seemed in control and racing smooth, wasn't shocked at all to wake up this morning and read that every car on the grid was still running at the end. Came down to strategies, and I see Ferrari made another bad decision with tires. Hope Nico holds on for the final four races, hes made it pretty easy on himself.
Yup, no idea what Vettel was thinking there. Definitely on him and it almost cost Nico the championship race if Lewis didn't blow. Made for an interesting race though! Good for Daniel. Shoeys for everyone! Haha
I just watched the race....well, terrible. Vettel did in again after China. And that Verstappen boy...oh my, he is seriously need to calm down. He reminds me a little Perez, before he grown up and crushed into everybody and everything. This is not okay. Someday someone will crush into him because of this.
The Mercedes and Hamilton had a great luck with the safety car and avoiding the crashes.
