Future Upgrade.

Also you do not need that many fans, a 200mm plus a 140mm will do just fine

meffflenn especially with a liquid cooled cpu having it’s own fan taking up a slot

Katsuo says you should get an ASUS Mobo and nothing else is worth getting

shiftysatchmo Exactly  Better spend that saved money on a better mainboard or just save the money

meffflenn The case is build to hold 2 200mm fans in the front… im trying to slightly recreate the setup I seen from Linus with out using Intel lol

gorkie just remember, more fans = more noise. Only use what you need, which won’t be a ton with the liquid cooler.

gorkie do you have a nuclear reactor? I guess not … so reasonable amount of chassis fan is about 2- 3 no more no less … I don’t have a clue why on every build you show us contains 5 or 10 fans (when maximum number of fan per chassis without AIO is 3 up to 4) …

Since the PC case is by design nothing else but a sealed container … And if you use one bigger fan for pulling air into the casing and two smaller for exhaust the air … or vice versa … you will find that you have constant volume of air in the housing and variable pressure and temperature of air in same sealed container (at least in theory) …
Isochoric process

In short you will cool your components inside chassis by bringing fresh air of lower temperature … which will mix with hot air inside … or you will lower temp by mixing air of different temperatures (delta T  xD) … so only way to lower the temperature inside is by increasing the flow; or volume per unit of time … so push-pull method … (how much will be the cooling efficiency depends on only one feature of the fan; and that is airflow in CFM (cubic feet per minute) … more fans = more turbulence or more air mixing within space … you want more fluidity less turbulence (or less mixing) … the more volume in the unit of time is moved through the sealed container greater efficiency of cooling is …

Linus is/was and always will be idiot … the rules of thermodynamics and fluid flow are much more important in cooling … than what Linus has to say … coz he does not care about rules of physics

mark2k77 counter point: fans have pretty lights.

mark2k77 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LhkMjc how about that?

katsuo https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LhkMjc Just because you wanted me to go with ASUS :stuck_out_tongue:

gorkie more or less fine … except it will outshine the sun in RGB spectrum … i would consider maybe one of those
ROG STRIX X370-F GAMING

ROG CROSSHAIR VI EXTREME
and consider AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 CPU since you are not PRO video / 3D modeling users who will use highly threaded apps like NewTech Lightwave or Alias Maya Wavefront, AutoCAD and so on … So since you need that PC mostly for gaming and surfing around Internet … even that is too much … Invest money in something else

gorkie not bad but my idea was to lower the price tag …

mark2k77 I think 1700 is still the way to go. Spend a little more now and not have to upgrade for a suuuuper long time. The 1700 is the sweet spot. It’s not like he is looking at a threadripper

shiftysatchmo maybe but 50$ is maybe better to invest in better GPU or MBO or something

mark2k77 I think MOBO is the worst place to spend extra money if you aren’t planning to utilize all of the slots and features. The CPU affects capturing, streaming, encoding, AI and physics processing. The card he picked for 1080 will blow everything away for a while. I think CPU is the way to go. But it’s his call I guess he would know what he needs.

About RAM. You picked 4x4GB for $199. Why not 2x8GB of the same memory for $174?
Sure, 4 planks look better, but is it worth $25?
