It’s nice that AMD is quick out of the gate on updates like this now at least.

They released another just today. It increases the max size of the shader cache!

Most, if not all, games. Since the cache holds more shaders, less need to be unloaded from the cache when non-cached shaders are used. The less unloaded from the cache, the less load/stress on the hardware next time those shaders are needed.
I see! Decided to hook back up this R9 270 seeing as the person still has not paid me for it yet and am checking out the feel of the new drivers.
