A buddy of mine who I been instructing on parts for his upgrade, did not head my warning when upgrading to a Ryzen 7 3700x and tried stuffing it into his z270… destroying the board, and breaking pins off the processor…
Now after getting the correct board x570 Rog Strix Gaming-E and a RX 5700 XT ROG Strix he has to get a new processor cause he broke the other lol.
Oof.
Just got worse, he broke the socket on the motherboard as well… clean off and now they won’t take it back cause its user damage lol.

Well, they managed to get the socket cap back on and the mobo still works… they tested it at the place, he got a new cpu and everything is up and running… Ryzen 7 3700x on a ASUS ROG STrix Gaming-E x570. 32gb DDR4 and all that jaz… lol he didnt get the GPU I told him to yet cause he had to buy a 2nd cpu but in time lol
