I used the dynamic QOS, and made my computer the highest priority device on the network. No lag while playing conan, but it was hard to tell tonight, because we started over, and there aren’t 4 million torches and a 7 story building around. lol. But web pages did seem to also load faster, and my wife said her computer was definitely faster and not ‘hanging up’ as she put it.
@Ub6 gah, my eyes! every time I look at this thread, don’t need the warning, your thumbnail itself is nsfw! hahahah
Anyway, I just thought its been a month since I basically started this, so I figured I’d report in, having a month’s play time under my belt now.
And, thoughts are pretty much still the same on it.
Its GONNA be a great game, but I feel it will be a niche game. But there is a niche that is there, just waiting to be filled by someone, and no one has stepped up. This niche is the people that want an MMO that is built more for roleplaying than it is for leveling and raiding. This game already has me hooked, enough even that it is the only thing I’m playing now except for a Skyrim session here and there.
Right now, I would not recommend it to anyone that is not into roleplay. If you are into roleplay, I would highly recommend it, just make sure you find the right server for you. Seriously, without the rp, it will get boring really quick, I would think.
Gameplay is getting better, they are squashing bugs right and left, but the lag, especially during combat, is really bad. At various times, this lag hits, and you just sit there with your screen frozen, for a second or two, and then rubberband to whereever you were last pointing if you had a direction key press. Just standing around, its ok, but in combat, you’re dead.
Like last night, we tried to take a camp, I did great, during the initial fight. But then after that, my tank died, I tried to go loot her stuff as she was running back, and rubberbanded into the camp myself, and then I died, to something I could have defeated, but only because my screen was froze, I couldn’t fight back. Very aggravating.
Once they get all that part optimized, I will let you guys know. But for now, like I said, unless you are like me and into the roleplay, (and find a great server!) then I’d continue to stay away.
As I said the game is apparently being built for roleplaying. The props, and building stuff are amazing, just with the stuff they have in so far. And modders have jumped on board, so there will be all sorts of things available.
Ok, so thats probably not a lot of great or useful info, but since I’m playing actively, I can try to chime in every month or so and keep you up with the progress on this one.
Awesome I came here with intent to tell of my latest wallet buster too.
My kids laptop died again this time I could not revive it so I looked for a new one.
She is now a gamer and has taken to streaming as well but still requires a laptop for college in the fall so…
Found a brand new open box (never sold but was turned on for a total of 20 minutes unless the report is lying) and instead of 2100 CAD it was a mere 800 CAD.
I thought there had to be something wrong but nope…it was just a clearance sale of open box stuff and that was the last one they had.
Dang thing is more modern than my desktop now (more video memory and faster system memory too for starters) and that makes me sad. I am waiting to give it to her as she has been banned from the internet this week…so not going to make it worse. Lol
@teh-g It premiered at 10pm this past Friday night after Grimm.
I had seen the trailer a couple times and was looking forward to it.
Its a retelling, darker version of Oz. Since it is a TV series, things will obviously be introduced slowly, and it will take a couple episodes or maybe even a short season to get into it properly and develop storylines.
My first impression though was a good one, I’ll continue to watch it. Best short description I can come up with is it is a combination of Mad Max and Wizard of Oz.
next on my list is the Grimm Fairy Tales series by Zenoscope. I actually started reading that a long time ago when I did collect weekly issues at my local comic shop, but haven’t read it since. I was determined to finish Fables first, because of the subject matter, I knew I’d get them confused. I tend to only pick up a graphic novel and read it every month or so these days.
Last night, as we finished our third heist together, the crew wanted to do something else for a few minutes, but no one wanted to stay on long enough to do any more intense missions. So we decided to do some impromptu racing, specifically one that one of our crew members had been wanting to do badly.
If you aren’t familiar, GTA has all sorts of races built in, with checkpoints and set tracks through the city, but what we enjoy is called impromptu races. You are just out in free roam, you set a waypoint anywhere on the map, and you challenge anyone that is in range of you to race to that point.
Well, what Marc wanted to do, was to race tractor trailers, with the trailers attached. So we all went out and stole trucks, then met at a parking lot, and… think about four goofy friends racing tractor trailers on snow covered roads. It was about as fun and hilarious as you would think it was!
Looks like your connection to Gaming Exodus was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
