Fallout 4 Crashes like a b*tch

Fallout 4 crashes constantly without errors. It was like a crash in 2-3 hours, but now it crashes like every 15-20 minutes. Unplayable.

My specs:
i5-4690k
R9 390X
8 GB RAM

All drivers are up to date.

Any ideas?

No idea, working fine for me :open_mouth:

I found this forum entry on Steam:

Try deleting the below ini files in these two folders:

C:\Users[Your Username]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 (delete Fallout4Prefs)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout 4 (again delete Fallout4Prefs)

And then verify your game cache files.

NOTE: ONLY DELETE THE INI FILES, NOTHING ELSE. Then verify your game cache files by right clicking fall out 4 in Steam and then -> properties -> Local files - verify Integrity of game Cache

Apparently it helped a lot of people who were experiencing the issue, also check if you have the latest graphic driver and update it (preferably download and install it manually)

ButtStallion Without success

Give it a try if ya haven’t already maybe?

  • Right-click on Fallout 4 in Library
  • Select “Settings” tab, then “Betas” tab
  • in drop-down menu select the “beta – 1.1.30 Beta Update”
  • Click “OK”, Fallout 4 will update
  • When the beta patch has finished, Fallout 4 should appear as “Fallout 4 [beta]” in your Library list

It might sound stupid but you could try messing around with the resolution. Lower it or turn on Virtual Resolution and upscale the resolution in game. Bethesda’s games are known for having problems with the resolution so it might fix your game.

None. It was fine for me. Are you using mods maybe?

Arsononion No betas for me

Katsuo Tried. Didn’t work

ShiftySatchmo No. Clean installation

How about you mod it? Maybe the game doesn’t work properly without mods XD

Found the issue. It was the official High Res DLC. That’s strange, because I used to play moded Skyrim with 50+ GB of high res textures without a problem.
