I don’t think the entire game is free. This is just a starter thing. Probably the original multiplayer content or something. I’d be surprised if the campaign was included.

Everything is free in the game. Not sure if you can buy the DLC characters with the currency but I know that the starter pack has the campaign and the multiplayer with all modes.
