Got a new chair, finally!

If you guys remember, years ago, several of us got E-Win gaming chairs.

Mine had a good run, but after years of sitting, two leather tape jobs to patch the fabric, I finally decided to replace it. It still sits good, but all the faux leather is coming off now, and it looks awful. Even the head pillow is deteriorating.

I started to go E-win again, but after looking at reviews, it seemed they don’t have a good reputation anymore. So I decided to try AndaSeat. I’ve heard and read some good things about them. Supposedly they are a Secret Labs level competitor, and depending on what you are after, may be better.

I went with the Kaiser 3, instead of the newest one, as most reviewers don’t like the 4, and it costed less. Also got it during the Christmas sale, plus a coupon I found surfing, so managed to get it down to $400.

I got it in last night. WOW this thing is heavy. I had read somewhere in a review that someone said just open the box where the delivery people leave it and bring it in piece by piece. I didn’t think anything about that until last night I get home and I could barely lift the thing!! I think I read somewhere that it was 75 lbs. So if weight has anything to do with quality, it hits home there. This chair is twice as heavy as my E-win!

I unboxed it and was very impressed with the packaging. Everything was very nicely packaged, way more than I expected. It came with a quality manual that had color pictures!! For me, working in the middle of the floor, I would way rather have a concise manual to put beside me than run back and forth to a pc to watch a video or view a pdf.

So putting it together was a breeze, for 90% of the process. The other 10% was the opposite of a breeze, but I got through it. Basically, one of the places you put a bolt, had been drilled at just slightly enough of an angle, to make the bolt not go in without cross threading. I worked on it, got frustrated, and finally took it back apart, and screwed the bolt in with nothing attached, and only thing figured out the problem. Once I knew what the bad angle was, I was able to put it together, and force the bolt to that angle, and everything worked like it should.

It sits very nice. Its different than I am used to, but that is not really a bad thing, as I was used to an 8 yr old used every day chair. It does sit higher than the Ewin, even on the Andaseats lowest setting. I think its because it is a bigger chair, overall. I can’t imagine what the XL version would be like. Its got all kinds of adjustments on it. The armrests are those 4D things, which I thought would be just some neat thing I would never use, until I started playing last night. I realized I kept changing the armrest angle for comfort, when I shifted position. ok, neat!! Its got lumbar up/down, in/out support. I configured it the way I felt it should be, and was very comfortable. My wife asked me how it felt, after playing last night, and I said that it was actually forcing me to sit correctly, but it was comfortable, so I kept sitting that way. Hmm, maybe this will be good for my back!

Anyway, other than the small building part, I’m happy with it so far.

Here is the one I got, if anyone wants to see.

Same thing happened with my E-win. I got a steelcase on @teh_g 's recommendation and it was so amazing my wife made me get her one too haha. Not as flashy as a gaming chair but super nice. Glad your choice worked out for you too!
