Ff7 also runs at sub-hd on ps4.
1600p on Pro as far as I remember.
I’m still gonna replay it when the 60fps patch comes out. The game is really good.
The only thing that they didn’t deliver are more consoles on launch. Other than that, I’m glad everything runs smoothly. Makes me wanna not play any playstation games until I get ps5 for meeeee
No 1440p resolution, won’t support SSD storage expansion at launch, No way to move PS5 games off the SSD, doesn’t support VRR out of the box, no quick resume feature, Dual Sense gamepad sucking batteies dry pretty fast, etc.
Every day this PS5 mess looks like payed beta testing of half baked console.
I would recommend waiting until the end of 2021 to buy it.
Meh. 1440p is niche PC gamer stuff. Not like there are 1440p TVs. The reviews I read said they fit 16 games on the SSD between three PS5 games and the rest PS4 so probably enough for me. My TV doesn’t support VRR anyway. I only need to suspend one game at a time when it takes 7 seconds for them to load anyway. The testing reviews I read said 7-10 hours controller life on games with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers and 13 hours otherwise. I play maybe 2-3 hours at a time at most so I can charge the controller in between sessions. I’ll have fun playing Demon’s Souls while you guys worry about this stuff.
“Don’t you rain on my paraaaaade!” - Love, Sony Fanboy
I don’t even really care, when those features are activated, my monitor is compatible. The only real reason I’m getting a ps5 still remains…exclusives held hostage.
That’s the reason to buy any console. I wonder if Sony will release more to PC.
The only thing that I’m worried about is only the controller battery. 1440p, VRR, quick whatever thing is all something I don’t know why it exists.
-1440p allows for more framerate vs quality options and there’s a bajillion free sync high refresh 1440p monitors out there.
-VRR (freesync/gsync) allows for turning off vsync and hides the stutter you feel when the fps fluctuates. On PC I can never go back to playing without it. I’m crazy fucking happy to see this debut in console land.
-Don’t care about being able to suspend multiple games because I only ever play one game at a time.
-Don’t care about battery life because I’m always in arms reach of a usb port when gaming, that and I’m already accustomed to the abysmal battery life of the dual shock 4.
-Don’t care about disk space because the game I delete to make room, I’ve already beat and likely will never play again anyway.
PS5 doesn’t support VRR at launch, so you are a bit too early to be happy xD
I just wanted a stable framerate in games. Where even PS4 Pro failed to do in most games. I don’t mind the 30 fps if it still is a thing but I do mind when the 30/60 fps isn’t stable. I’m glad Digital Foundry tested the console and it seems PS5 fixes most if not all of the framerate inconsistency that were present on PS4 vanilla or pro.
I still don’t understand why the HDMI 2.1 port though. We won’t be seeing 120 fps games on PS5 any time soon.
But seriously I just bought one to make @Katsuo jealous. It’ll probably just sit in the box.
You have no money left after buying your Ford so you just lied to me and I’m triggered
I can’t wait to send you a picture of all three that I bought side by side
You bought it for Geran, Josh and yourself. I know everything.
Haha nah two of my friends couldn’t find ore orders but I did so I got them one so found. They’ll pay me back though.
You could’ve done it for me too…I guess I’m not a friend.
I know it won’t be there at launch, but it will be there eventually. When it is you won’t care about solid 60 because vrr will hide it if it dips.
Yeah old ps4 games now have a solid 60, that doesn’t say anything about native ps5 games. The sooner vrr is enabled and devs allow unlocked frame rates, the better off we’ll be…actually the devs don’t even have to unlock the frame rate, if a game is supposed to be 60, it’ll likely dip to the 50s sometimes and vrr will save the day.
We will see. If they add the thing and unlock the framerate, I’ll be happy. If not, fuck it. I hope they start announcing games. They barely announced something.
