It seems I have to reinstall every game. They seem to work fine once I do. Very odd. Maybe the new patch broke something?

I won’t smile. Sorry that happened to you. My friend returned his PS5 yesterday. Problems with corrupting external drive and some weird purple lines on screen while playing games. 
That’s a bummer! My issue was a minor inconvenience really.
