Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within - 20 Years

November 30 was the 20th anniversary of my all-time favorite game. This masterpiece combined awesome gameplay, dark atmosphere, amazing ost (thank you for introducing me Godsmack), and booty - a perfect mix.

I still remember the day back in 2006 when my parents gifted an 11-old me the game - how my mother’s face changed when Shahdee’s ass appeared on the screen.

I was replaying the whole trilogy every 1-2 years since. What an awesome game. Fuck Ubisoft for turning it into the Assassin’s Creed money conveyer.

I still liked every AC game up until Odyssey and found them better than Prince of Persia games. BUT, in my defense, before you kill me, I have to agree that it’s a bit stupid from their side to kill the franchise just like that. There was no reason not to have PoP exist next to AC. PoP games were fun and I still have PS2/PS3 versions shelved after all these years and tend to play them at least once per year.

Assassin’s Creed IS Prince of Persia. It was a reboot that transformed into a separate series.

I don’t say AC games are bad. They are ok, probably. The issue is how Ubisoft massacred the POP series. They took the best parts and left the series to die.

I agree POP and AC can exist at the same time. AC is more about stealth, and POP is about swordplay. Just make them different. But, considering how the games industry looks today and how Ubisoft keeps digging its own grave, I don’t think there will be a new good POP game. Maybe in 10-20 years, if someone buys the franchise just like Ubisoft did back in the day.

I didn’t stop calling them prince of persia games well after they changed the name lol. This was my first PoP game, the original (before ubisoft’s tentacles got a hold of the franchise): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKQX75dBlEI

One time I beat this game twice in the same day.
