Hey, what! I beat games…sometimes…
Pictures or didn’t happen
I finished Titanfall 2 on hard mode. It is an excellent game! 9/10
Pros:
- Graphics are great and it ran perfectly from start to finish.
- Sound design is excellent all around.
- Gameplay is polished and fluid. You feel like a badass the entire time without feeling too overpowered (besides the times you are supposed to). You definitely should not play below hard mode.
- Still feels unique compared to other shooters. It really is in a league of its own.
- Makes me care about robots! I love BT and might replay just to be thrown by him some more.
- Addictive multiplayer with constant unlocks. I get into matches insanely quickly and haven’t run into anyone toxic yet.
Cons:
- The campaign is a tad short, but I guess that’s fine because it didn’t feel incomplete.
- Plot is a bit cliche and the dialogue is in a cheesy action movie style (but it works)
- Multiplayer is missing common things like stats, but they announced they are patching that in soon.
- Multiplayer is more chaotic than before and you pretty much need teamwork to win so playing with random people can get irritating, as with any game I guess.
- Katsuo doesn’t own it :’(
ShiftySatchmo :’(
ShiftySatchmo Watched a friend play it in the dying hours of a LAN party last weekend. Was a lot better than I expected the games campaign to be.

Seriously the most fun action fps campaign I’ve played in a while. I really hope it gets played by a lot of people so it forces the bar to be higher for the competition. A lot of clever mechanics and great level design. Best shooter I’ve played since BioShock Infinite. It’s short and sweet. Combined with the multiplayer it is worth every penny. And I saw it will be like $35 on black Friday already.
ShiftySatchmo And unfortunately I saw comments that the game kinda feels empty in multiplayer on other modes that are not Attrition. I watched the AMDs stream and basically the dude couldn’t find a match for 10 minutes on other maps. Attrition is only played. I really wanted to the game to succeed but I guess, people are usually brainwashed by the media and all that and they see nothing but that stupid Battlefield 1.

Eh, most games are ruled by one or two modes. Gears 4 has the same problem. It’s because people like death match!
ShiftySatchmo That’s true but still…Attrition can get boring when played over and over again.

People play that and the uhhh domination kinda one that I forget the name of…and pilot vs pilot
ShiftySatchmo Meh we’ll see it next year. I want Titanfall to be big! Titanfall 1 died unfortunately. I tried yesterday to play a few matches and there were literally 50 people online which were 40 in the US xD
Beat Spec Ops: The Line on Suicide Mission difficulty.
It was a pretty intense game with a great plot, loosely based on the book Heart of Darkness (or the movie Apocalypse Now, for you uncultured swines). It really picked up in the second half!
Pros
-
Plot
-
Voice acting ( <3 Nolan North)
-
Some excellent firefights
-
Nice sound design and a fun soundtrack of mostly classic rock
-
Graphics held up nicely considering it is from 2012. It surprisingly even supported 4k, which ran perfectly.
Cons
-
I ran into a bug or two when a scripted event got stuck because some guy wouldn’t move or something.
-
I shouldn’t hold this against it too much, but the game was 4k fine and the cut scenes were rendered lower so it was a bit jarring
-
Some of the “choices” felt a bit cheap
Overall, it was a very good game. I think I got it in a bundle or something so no complaints here! You should play it. At first i was thinking ehhh 7/10 while I was playing it, but after finishing the last 25% I think it deserves an 8/10.
ShiftySatchmo Spec Ops: The Line really is as close to modern shooters holding a mirror up to themselves unironically as you can get. To do it with OTT humour & parody is easier than keeping it as gritty & realistic as it did. It is still on my list of games that every gamer should play. The Wily Pete scene alone is chilling. From interviews with the devs they had as much fun making the game as those filming Apocalypse Now did & as such vowed never to return for a sequel.
