The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

So this is my next game! I really wish Nintendo would just use one engine for all first party games. They totally could have used the BOTW/TOTK engine and this game would have been a locked 60fps (even on the potato that is Switch). The art style and scope of those games is so much more hardware intensive than this game and they manage to have a mostly 30fps experience. That said they didn’t use that engine, it can do 60 in some areas, but it stutters like fuck in others. They seem to be using the same engine as the Link To The Past remaster.

Been playing for the past couple days and it’s pretty fun. In this one you play as Zelda and you’re trying to save Link this time (in addition to Hyrule). Though Link isn’t just captured, he’s stuck in another dimension fighting against the evil powers that be.
You acquire this rod that can make copies of enemies and objects that you encounter, so basically you’re a summoner. Throughout the game you have brief encounters with Link at which time he bestows one of his abilities on you. You can enable the spirit of Link and play with his move set for brief periods of time (it drains a meter, to force you to use Zelda’s skill set most of the time).
As for the objects you can spawn, they’re mostly used for traversing terrain you couldn’t otherwise. They seem to be borrowing from the TOTK janky contraption building but with far less complexity. I hope the next title fucks off with that sort of thing.

Will post more later!

Nearly got a heart attack when I saw the $80 price. Then I saw the URL and it said Canada. I feel better now :DDDDDDDD

I bought used physical anyway.

Just beat it! An excellent game! I just hope the next title’s gimmick has nothing to do with summoning nor building. If the game was any longer the mechanics would have over-stayed their welcome. I also pulled it off in less than 7 days so I was able to have cloud save with one of those free 7 day switch online trials they offer from time to time. Recommended!

I enjoyed this one a ton too. It was super fun and felt more like a Zelda game.
