Time for that important PSU upgrade! Which PSU though?

Techtu84 not in that price range. Most of the new stuff isn’t super necessary (quieter, RGB, etc.). PSUs are like RAM. They don’t update very often. It supplies power and has enough cables haha. Modular is definitely the way to go so it’s nice that it is common now.

650 Watt XFX XTR Series Modular 80+ Gold same as the 650 Watt Seasonic X-Series Modular 80+ Gold, just funny enough cheaper as the Seasonic one. But as far as i can Tell it should be the same as the EVGA one…

“The same as the EVGA one” … So not great then? I’ve checked the price anyway and it seems to be a little more than the others.

So the Cooler Master GM750 semi modular is on sale for £65, thinking wayyyy down the line but would that be fine for crossfire with 2 RX480s? Also how’s it compare to the seasonic a few posts up?

Mark2K77 understood that the G stood for gold efficiency. My understanding was that the original G being now designated G1 & the G2,GS & GQ all being different models, with different specs/manufacturers.

Always good to learn new information.

Techtu84 Local pricings can be funny … at my dealer it´s 30 euro´s cheaper then the Seasonic unit

MeFFFlenn I’m pretty much set on the Cooler Master GM750 now, the only thing I don’t like about it is there GPU power cables are not modular, but I can live with that I guess.

Techtu84 you’re going to use the GPU cables anyways so I don’t see that hurting anything. And seems a solid choice.

LetsGetIt1220 the CX series are fine for lower end builds, especially the white newer version. They aren’t meant for overclocking which is why everyone says they suck. Why would you buy all high end equipment then by the cheapest PSU you can? Oh wait i know because people think the literal life blood of the PC isn’t important and buying a better CPU, GPU, MB is more important.

I’ve used the CX version several times with zero issues. Lots of people have. Is it my go to? No but then it depends on the build.
