I’ve been thinking about trying this game for a long time since I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I finally gave it a shot and wasn’t disappointed—the game really won me over. It has an excellent dark atmosphere, a well-crafted world, and a great soundtrack. The game is very, very outdated—especially the combat. It was finished in a rush and faced a ton of issues—it launched pretty buggy, and you need to install a patch just to get it running. Despite all that, the game has an amazing vibe, similar to 90’s movies like The Crow. If you’re into old games and don’t mind dated mechanics, this game is absolutely stellar.
The developer, Troika Games, was laid off twenty years ago. So, I wouldn’t call this a second game. Just another game in the same setting. I don’t expect anything from it, though.
Haven’t played a vampire game ever since Legacy of Kain came out. After that I played Nosgoth and that’s about it. Might try Vampire and Vampyr. Love the dark and bloody atmosphere in games. Probably the reason why I’m into lovecraftian books and Bloodborne.

The new game is practically done, and they are in the polishing phase. It was hoping for a Q2 release, but they have decided to delay it because they want it to be as polished and as bug free as possible, given all the bad press and stuff associated with it. They are not giving a specific date, but they are shooting for October.
