This will be awesome, only 5 more days xD
picketech Are you planning to visit the weekend in real life?
Man, the weekend snuck up on me! I missed the action today.
Vettel with the time to beat in FP2 on the same tire? About time! I’m sure Mercedes finds over a second by tomorrow though haha.
Rosberg gets a much needed lap at the very very end of Q3 to get to 2nd on the grid. I can’t see him having the pace tomorrow though judging by his weekend besides that one lap. He seems to be in management mode rather than go out and win it mode. Ferrari’s fell off the map in qualifying. Red Bulls close enough to make it a race again maybe. Should be fun!
schlitty But the two Ferrari start on soft tyres, maybe an opportunity, but they usually mess it up
schlitty Yep. They turn up the motor for Quali and the other don’t seem to have that little extra.
Rosberg has gone to Lewis’ setup for Quali. That is where the time came from.
What do you guys think of F1 becoming an Aero formula again?
I am not overly thrilled about it. It hten becomes a formula of who is better at the start and the rest follow for the whole race. No passing due to aero disadvantage following another car in dirty air. Only way to lose after that is a bad pit stop.
Geez, was busy gaming and practically forgot about the race again! Dunno where my brain went this weekend haha.
Trainsmash I’m a F1 noob. This is only my second full season watching after getting into it from playing the F1 2013 game. So I’m all for something new, I’m willing to see how it plays out. Especially if there’s more parity in the standings.
Trainsmash The new aero rules allows cars to follow them in dirty air longer, less tyre wear. Maybe less DRS passes. We’ll see, in theory, the next year will be better for Kimi with the more downforce, i hope
Max finally got properly punished for something.
schlitty FINALLY. It was an absolutely dirty, disgusting move from him. I would give him at least 10, this is not a sportman’s attitude. Great race from Vettel, that long soft etap was the key. I wonder why Kimi could not do it. Still voted Ricciardo for today’s best driver.
I miss the mass fight between the Ferrari and Red Bull engineers
To be clear, Hamilton also cut the corner after the start but without penalty. Usually the first corner decides the first and second place between the two Mercedes’s pilot.
Vettel got a 10 sec penalty for his “Verstappen-defense” against Ricciardo, so back to 5th position and the australian is 3rd. This is the official result.
