This game has been super frustrating, but is super fun so far. If you liked the original, you should definitely play it!
How close is the gameplay to the previous game? @Katsuo gifted it to me a few christmas’ back. I thought I wouldn’t like it because it was considered a “souls-like”, but it didn’t feel very soulsy at all and I beat it.
It is super similar. Some minor things changed but definitely the same style of game.
On the list it goes.
I think I like Silksong less than the original HK but both are amazing
I agree with this.
It’s my next game now. There’s no graphics settings other than res and frame cap. So running at a solid 2160p144 (the game refuses to allow dsr to work even though it lets me pick resolutions above native).
Yup, it’s definitely just more of the same, which isn’t bad given I liked the previous game. I wouldn’t play them back to back though, it’ll burn you out. There’s probably some new functionalities/mechanics, but it’s been so long since I played the previous that I couldn’t tell you what they are. Will post more later!
My tip is to not play Hornet like the OG guy (I forget his name). She is way more floaty.
Yesterday I accidentally stumbled into a quest that resulted in me not being able to silk bind, use any tools, or swap crests. That was fun.
I beat this today. I learned I didn’t get the “true” ending, but I don’t know if I want to go back and try to get that now.
I find this game just increases the annoyance factor rather than increasing the challenge factor. If I hadn’t already played so far, I’d have never started.
Well I’m giving this game a full thumbs down, it can go die in a fire. I’m soft locked. There is no white key and I cannot proceed without it. That and the experience just gets more annoying as you progress. Play the first one, skip this one. Let’s hope they make a significantly different game next time.
Which key do you need?
There is definitely a lot of backtracking and hidden rooms that have stuff in them.
The white key. It’s in neither place it could possibly be.
I think the white key is sold by a merchant for 200 beads. I remember being annoyed by that.
If you get to the area before finishing a certain quest, it’s on a corpse. If not it’s sold by the merchant. It is in neither location.
I ditched the game. It was way too annoying for me to play it. Maybe I’ll come back to it if they patch all the annoying stuff (which I highly doubt they will do it).
Yeah they need to significantly change the mechanics for me to even consider playing a sequel.
