Depending on how 2080 compares to 1080ti, you probably can do 4k anyway. I do when I can but I use dsr because my monitor is 1440p.
Benchmark says 2080 = 1080Ti +15% so I guess it could do 4k gaming. Maybe at some point I’ll get a 4k monitor. Or I can hook it up to my 4k TV.
Just turn on dsr in nvidia control panel. Then always try the highest res with a playable framerate when setting your options in a new game. Downsampling from a higher than native res will always look better than native.
But in the control panel make sure the dsr only applies to games. Would probably look derpy for regular windows use.
Knowing you for couple of years and seeing this now I’m so happy too see you building your pc and getting the stuff you deserve while working hard and reaching your goals. That my dude deserves a lot of respect.
