(Spoiler Free) Red Dead Redemption 2 Review (sorry for my english)

I just checked it again and everything is off. The freaking dot just keeps snapping to the target when I’m like close to aim at them. Hitboxes are good, that’s true. Can’t headshot because, well, the dot is glued to the body.

That’s weird man, might be a glitch. Never does that for me regardless of what controller I use

Are you playing on PC or console? If console, which one?

Just had my first kb+m gun fight with a bunch of dudes. Fucking night and day. Not even a “pro” xbox/ps4 controller could compete…not that they ever did in respect to aiming.

At least someone is having fun

@Katsuo it’s not on game pass? I bought it digitally on XB1 a while ago it was pretty cheap.

Also dusk and dawn.

I’ve also discovered horse riding is the only thing gamepad is better for…at least so far.

I beat it on PS4 and am replaying on PC

It is. I’m playing it through game pass.

Probably a glitch on my side then. I’ll reinstall it (again) and see if that fixes it finally.

I played it all the way through on PC, using KB+M.

I didn’t have any problems with the gun battles, and pretty much it went for me as @sYnCroSis said.

That very first battle with the wolves was a little weird, but once you get used to the system they use, (it exactly the same one that GTAV uses) it went ok.
After gun upgrades, and character upgrades, it not only gets easier, but your gun looks a lot cooler and personalized.
Head shots were immensely satisfying, I didn’t have auto aim at all.

But for me, gameplay during gun battles was a small thing. The story is what makes this game, and just out riding around your horse and finding side stories and looking at beautiful scenery. One of the very few games I’ve played where sometimes I’d start it up and just take the horse out and ride, for relaxation.

I got all derped out riding with a keyboard. Gonna keep using gamepad for that.

You’re a 1 game at a time guy. You gonna stick with that for this one? Wondering your approach because it is such a large game. Gonna blow through for main missions and random side stuff along the way or you plan to put more time into it?

I generally clear side shit (only that which I can see) before pushing the story forward. That said I beat persona 5 with the same mentality and this game probably isn’t as long…however if I detect busywork, I’ll charge straight forward. I’m still early on.

a couple of the side quests are absolutely hilarious if you are on the lookout and follow them through and do each quest in the line as it pops up.

A couple to be on the lookout for-

  • the brothers competing for the affection of a girl
  • the inventor guy that wants you to test things for him
  • the guy wanting to invent the electric chair
  • the french artist guy.

Without spoilers, those four, I remember laughing really hard all the way through and when it got to the end of each.

This game does things very…oddly. It doesn’t have any hooks in me yet, but still good enough to keep playing. It feels like it has 18 designers who all hate each other so far…

Yeah it takes time to hook but once “the event” happens, you’ll know and you’ll be hooked

There’s a thunder storm brewing in game…there’s a real one brewing outside. I love it when local weather matches in game weather. : ]
